2017 Treatment Request for Proposals (RFP)
Substance abuse counseling and treatment are the only ways to break the vicious cycle of addiction. Through COMBAT, Jackson County is interested in funding programs to provide a comprehensive set of drug treatment services including detoxification, residential and outpatient services and continuing care services such as job training and transitional living programs. One of the priorities of the nine-member Drug Commission which provides oversight to COMBAT is to ensure effective treatment and rehabilitation for adult and juvenile substance abusers. Room and Board is considered a separate service, which can be addressed through this RFP.
The Treatment RFP will fund substance abuse treatment services for 2017 and will offer an opportunity for renewal in 2018. The primary objectives of the COMBAT Treatment RFP for FY 2017 is to provide treatment and recovery programs that achieve the following general outcomes:
1. Abstinence from alcohol and/or drug use;
2. Improved employment and/or educational status;
3. Elimination of criminal behavior;
4. Improved family relationships and living environment;
5. Creation or enhancement of a social support system that is conducive to recovery; and
6. Retention in treatment for a period of time that maximizes treatment effects.
COMBAT is seeking General Treatment Services, Drug Court Services, and programming to be provided in the Jackson County Detention Center.
There is no guarantee that Treatment agencies funded in 2016 will be funded in 2017, pending performance. In 2016 COMBAT funded more than $3 million in treatment services.
