Police Chief Darryl Forte’ will be our guest speaker. We’ll get an update on what’s going on in our community, hear how the department is addressing current issues and ask questions of the Chief. Please invite your neighbors to join us.
SKCA Community Awards – May 24th Event
Our Community Awards Subcommittee has decided to host our first annual awards breakfast to
recognize neighborhood and business leaders and government officials and employees who have made
significant contributions to improve South Kansas City at Avila University onTuesday, May 24.
The breakfast will be in Avila’s Whitfield Center at 7:30 a.m., and individual tickets are $25.
Sponsorships for the event also will be available.
A Good Neighbor award will be given to an outstanding neighborhood volunteer. Awards also will be
given for lifetime service to the community, for good corporate citizenship, and for outstanding public,
government and public safety service. An outstanding neighborhood organization and an outstanding
educational program will be honored too.
Persons wishing to nominate individuals or organization for any of these awards may submit their
nominations with a brief description of why the individuals or organizations should be honored to Awards Subcommittee Chair John Sharp at firstname.lastname@example.org. More details to follow.
