SKCA July 2026 Meeting

July 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Free

Please attend our important public meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, July 13, in the community room in the front building of the South Patrol Police Campus, 9701 Marion Park Dr., and learn about KCMO’s new Department of Community Safety and the city’s planned permanent Corrections & Rehabilitation Center and its present temporary modular facility for persons charged with or convicted of serious city ordinance violations that will prioritize rehabilitating prisoners and reducing recidivism.

Speaking will be Lace Cline, KCMO Assistant City Manager for Public Safety & Emergency Services, and Diana Knapp, Director of the KCMO Department of Community Safety.

Speakers will also give a factual presentation on the five KCMO ballot measures that will be on the August 4 ballot.

Also speaking will be Dr. Troy Hogg, Superintendent of Center School District, who will give the facts about that District’s proposed $5 million no tax increase general obligation bond issue on the August 4 ballot which will allow the District to pay off a lease purchase agreement to finance improvements and equipment, freeing up funds for the day to day operations of the district.  The measure will require a 4/7 majority (a little over 57.1%) to pass.

Dr. Hogg will also update attendees about other new positive developments in the district.

Reverend Ron Lindsay, senior pastor of Concord Fortress of Hope Church, will speak about the possible revitalization of the Robandee Shopping Center site on the northeast quadrant of Bannister & James A. Reed Roads.

Other area public officials often attend these public meetings to keep the audience up to date about other new developments that can impact our community and neighborhoods, either positively or negatively, and members of the public are always welcome to attend.

Please remember Bannister Rd. is closed at U.S, 71 Highway due to reconstruction and widening of the highway bridges over Bannister, so it is best for people who don’t live near Bannister east of U.S. 71 to take I-435 to Bannister and then go west on Bannister to Marion Park Dr. or to drive north on U.S. 71 and then turn east on Bannister to Marion Park Dr.
