SKCA October 2026 Meeting

October 12 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Please attend our important public meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, October 12, in the multipurpose room in the REAR BUILDING of the South Patrol Police Campus, 9701 Marion Park Dr., and hear from South Patrol Commander Major Kari Thompson about the most recent crime trends in south Kansas City and about South Patrol’s Take Back The Block program to reduce crime in our neighborhoods.
Major Thompson will also give tips on specific steps residents can take to reduce the chances of their homes or businesses being burglarized and their vehicles being stolen.
New KCMO Public Works Director Jason Waldron will explain the city’s plans to improve city streets and traffic safety in south Kansas City by repairing, resurfacing and widening streets and installing traffic signals and sidewalks and will listen to residents’ specific requests for street and sidewalk improvements.
Representatives of Save Blue River Road will make a brief presentation on their plans to repair and reopen this scenic street which is a major north-south connector serving south Kansas City in a cost-effective manner.

Other public officials usually attend these public meetings to keep the audiences up to date about other major new developments that can impact our community, and members of the public always are welcome to attend.

Please remember Bannister Rd. is closed at U.S. 71 Highway due to the reconstruction & widening of the highway bridges over Bannister and other highway improvements, so it is best to take I-435 to Bannister and then go west on Bannister to Marion Park Dr.
